After the Arabic commentaries of the Qur’an, its translations have probably not been done more in any other language than Urdu. Apart from prose translation, there is no shortage of translations in poetry. However, so far, there has been no manzoom translation of the Quran from a religious and Arabic scholar, than Maulana Habibullah Asri’s Manzoom Tarujamn Quran.
The beauty of this work is that it not only explains the meaning of the Quran in puristic language but also creates an elation in the form of a poem. In all the surahs, the eloquence and the standard of knowledge have been maintained.
- About the book
The book titled, ‘Mawahibur Rahman Manzoom Tarjuman Quran’ is the complete, authentic and word-by-word translation of the Holy Quran in Urdu poetry. The author is a scholar in Islamic studies (Aalim), Quranic principles and proficient in Arabic and Urdu languages. As such this book has been translated first hand from Quranic Arabic into easy-to-understand Urdu poetry. Each subsections has been summarised with a title. This translation does not represent any particular school of thoughts or the point of view. The book has taken over 18 years to complete.
The first printed volume of the book covering chapter 1-10 of the Quran, was published in 2015. It was launched in Mumbai in December 2015 and Birmingham in May 2016 and was distributed amongst the public.
The second printed volume of the book covering chapter 11-20 of the Quran, was printed in 2018. It was launched in Mumbai in December 2018 and Birmingham in April 2019. The second volume of this book was also distributed amongst the public.
Both volumes of the book has been greatly appreciated from general public as well as scholars and poet from across the world. This has led an increase in demand for this book to be published and freely distributed to worldwide audience.
Third volume comprising chapter 21-30 of the Quran, has been accomplished during the Pandemic lockdown 2020.
